The Bolytag Centre for International Diplomacy and Strategic Studies (BOCIDASS) is one of Africa’s foremost think-tanks on foreign policy and international relations. It is primarily engaged in academic research and studies, training, and consultancies in all areas of international relations.
Our aim is to offer a high quality and practical training to professional and aspiring diplomats, post-graduate students of international relations and political science in the area of international diplomatic practice, especially diplomatic negotiation, alternative dispute resolution, conference diplomacy, etiquette and protocol, editorial diplomacy, environmental diplomacy, handshake and food diplomacy, and comparative order of precedence. Our Faculty comprises distinguished academic scholars, seasoned diplomats, international functionaries, and experts in the field of international diplomatic practice and peace support operations.
Additionally, BOCIDASS engages in scholarly publications, especially diplomatic memoirs, annual foreign policy reviews, current affairs; as well as consultancy services in informatics, knowledge discovery and management, academic dissertations and report writing, opinion polls and economic, particularly market, surveys..
As diplomacy is generally conducted secretly and virtually all negotiations conducted secretly continue to have implications for the general public, there is the need to understand the practical techniques of diplomacy. This is the main emphasis of BOCIDASS in addition to theoretical diplomatic postulations.
